As a child I grew up speaking English and Spanish since my father was an oilfield engineer in Ecuador, South America. Growing up there was very interesting but schooling was limited after a young age so I was shipped off to Boarding School in Edinburgh, Scotland. Upon graduating I studied and worked as a State Registered Nurse in Windsor, Berkshire, UK. I traveled and visited many countries including Spain, France, Holland, Egypt, Ivory Coast and lived in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia for several years. I moved back to England with my two young children and finally came to Florida in 1985 and later became a US Citizen. I lived in Broward, Martin County and now in The Villages, FL 32162. The Villages is a unique Active Adult golfing community like no other for the 55+ located just 45 miles northwest of Orlando and covers a land area of approximately 32 square miles or more since it continues to grow yearly with new developments. Major businesses include restaurants, retail, healthcare, entertainment at their 500,000 sq ft town Centers and many grocery and Pharmacy stores. Recreational activities (which are paid via our monthly amenities) consist of 50+ golf courses 38 of which are Executive Courses (9 holes and free to play on) while the remaining are Country Club Championship Courses which are 18 holes and some are 27 hole layouts. The Village Centers ( 20 or more) have their own pools, tennis, bocci ball, pickle ball courts and other activities. There are many dog parks and trails to exercise our pooches. Entertainment includes Performing Arts Centers with many artists, Movie theatre with wonderful relaxing seats which lean back have the most updated movies. There are over 2800 social clubs all for our residents. Golf carts are the main way of transportation with tunnels and roads for connectivity plus their is a GPS system for golf carts in order not to get lost! My favorite of course IS SELLING Real Estate here in The Villages, FL. There are many styles of homes and Villas, square footage and price ranges to fit every ones budget.
