Ocean Ridge

Ocean Ridge, Florida

Ocean Ridge

Ocean Ridge has a rich history beginning in the 1930s. In 1931, Ocean Ridge was originally founded as the Town of Boynton Beach. Because mail was being sent to Daytona Beach in error, due to the name similarities, Marion White Bird, the daughter of then Mayor Michael White, suggested the name "Ocean Ridge." The name was officially changed to Ocean Ridge in 1939.

Ocean Ridge is a small coastal community along the US Highway A1A. It lies 1.6 miles north of Briny Breezes, 1.3 miles east of Boynton Beach, and 4.3 miles south of South Palm Beach. To the east lies the Atlantic Ocean, where residents and visitors can enjoy the South Florida ocean breeze.

The Mission of the Town of Ocean Ridge is to create and maintain a beautifully landscaped, diverse seaside community built around the family and civic pride, state of the art public services, and infrastructure that enhances the natural beauty of the Town.
